Lukas Mraz
Lukas Mraz (born July 24, 1990 ) is an Austrian cook and restaurateur .
Life
Mraz is a son of the chef Markus Mraz and grew up with his brother after their parents separated. His great-grandfather already ran a Viennese coffee house and his grandfather a pub . From an early age he did auxiliary work for his father in his restaurant. After completing his training at the Vienna School of Gastronomy, he learned from Jean-Georges Klein at L'Arnsbourg in Baerenthal in Lorraine and then worked for Jonnie Boer in Zwolle, the Netherlands . He also worked in Bergisch Gladbach ( Vendôme ) and spent two and a half years as head chef in the Berlin wine bar Cordobar (now only Cordo ) of his compatriot Gerhard Retter . Since then he has been working as a cook at the side of his father and brother (who runs the service) in the two Michelin-starred Viennese restaurant Mraz und Sohn , which was founded by his grandfather.
TV appearances
In 2018 Mraz was a guest on the program Knife Fight Club as a duelist and emerged as the winner in the cooking duel with Sascha Stemberg . In the spring of 2019 he was seen as Tim Mälzer's duelist in the 4th season of Kitchen Impossible , where he also emerged victorious from the duel. In 2020 he could be seen again in 2 episodes of the program, this time alongside his father, as the original chef of a task given to Christoph Kunz and subsequently with his opponent Jan Hartwig . He is also in an episode of the second season Ready to beef! seen in a duel with Alexander Herrmann .
