Alexander Herrmann (cook)
Alexander Karl Rudolf Herrmann (born June 7, 1971 in Kulmbach ) is a German chef , restaurateur , television chef and cookbook author .
Life
Alexander Herrmann grew up in a hotelier family in Wirsberg . He lost his parents in a car accident at the age of nine, and in 1981 his uncle and aunt took over the management of the family hotel.
Herrmann attended the hotel management school Bavaria Altötting , followed by an apprenticeship as a cook in Nuremberg and internships in Belgium and Germany. Herrmann passed the master chef examination as the best of his year with distinction from the Bavarian State Government. In 1995 Herrmann joined Herrmann's Romantik Posthotel in Wirsberg in the Franconian Forest as head chef , which has been in the family since 1869. In 1997 he was accepted into the group of Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe Section Germany, of which he was President from 2007 to 2010. His hotel has a Michelin-starred restaurant, a bistro and a cooking school.
He has been running the Alexander Herrmann Palazzo in Nuremberg since 2009. He worked as a cook a. a. TV advertising for various products. In 2017 he opened two restaurants in Nuremberg , the Imperial by Alexander Herrmann and the Fränk'ness on the ground floor of the same building .
Alexander Herrmann is married in second marriage and living separately. He is the father of two children from his first marriage to Eva Herrmann.
Awards
The restaurant Alexander Herrmann by Tobias Bätz has been awarded one Michelin star by the Michelin Guide since 2008, and two Michelin stars since 2019. The Gault Millau gave the restaurant 17 out of 20 points. The Alexander Herrmann culinary school was named culinary school of the year 2011 by Gault Millau .
