Kerner's Cooks was a cooking show of ZDF .
history
In the years 2005 to 2008 a similar format with the title Kerner kocht was running as an offshoot of the talk show Johannes B. Kerner , which Markus Lanz cooks as Lanz from 2008 to 2012 ! was continued. From 2017 to 2018, this new version ran independently on a different slot with a length of 45 minutes.
Charisma
Kerners Köche ran weekly on Saturdays from 4:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on ZDF from April 1 to July 22, 2017, taking over the broadcasting slot for Lafer! Lights! Delicious! . From September 30, 2017 to May 5, 2018, the program ran on Saturday between 3:20 p.m. and 4:05 p.m. After the second season, the show was discontinued.
concept
The show was moderated by Johannes B. Kerner . In each edition, four famous chefs competed against each other by cooking one dish each. To do this, they all stood at a long worktop where everyone has their own workplace. The person standing on the left from the camera perspective cooked a starter, the second an intermediate course, the third a main course and the person standing on the far right the dessert. The dishes had to be finished in this order and tried by the three colleagues. People from the studio audience were allowed to try the leftover dishes. "Surprise menu" programs took place at irregular intervals, in which the cooks were given the ingredients in the program from which they had to prepare a dish.
In the first season, the dishes were rated invisibly for the other cooks with a score from 1 (very bad) to 10 (very good) by holding the card with the corresponding number in the camera. So a maximum of 30 points were possible. At the end, presenter Kerner announced the overall winner, who received a pin with the logo of the program as a prize. In addition, the recipes for all cooked dishes were available to viewers as video tutorials immediately after the broadcast on the ZDF website.
