Lukas Rotpuller (born March 31, 1991 in Eisenstadt ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

society

Rotpuller began his career in the youth of ASK Baumgarten , for which he was active until 2004, with the exception of one season at SV Schattendorf . As a result, he played for one season at the Burgenland Football Academy before moving to FK Austria Vienna in 2005 at FSA Hollabrunn .

For the 2009/10 season he was promoted to the squad of FK Austria Wien Amateure , where he made his debut in the First League on July 17, 2009 during the 3-0 away defeat at FC Lustenau under coach Hans Dihanich . As a result, he established himself as a regular player and managed to keep the league with the team, but still had to relegate to the Regionalliga Ost due to a league reform with the amateurs.

Thereupon he was temporarily in the squad of the A-team during the pre-season phase, but after a wrist injury he went back to the new season with the amateurs, which he subsequently also took to the field as team captain.

In July 2011, he extended his contract with Austria early until 2013. At the age of 20, he was the oldest player in the second team's squad. Rotpuller was awarded to SV Ried and started playing in the Bundesliga after a few games. With Marcel Ziegl and Thomas Reifeltshammer he forms one of the youngest defensive chains in Austria. In summer 2012 he returned to Austria and was Austrian champion in 2013.

After the 2016/17 season he left Austria. In February 2018 he moved to Spain for the second division Real Valladolid . With Valladolid he rose to the end of the season in the Primera División . Without having played a game for the club, he left Valladolid after the 2017/18 season.

National team

At the international level, Rotpuller made his debut in 2007 under coach Paul Gludovatz in the Austrian U-17 national team , for which he played a total of three games. As a result, he was not called up for an Austrian national team for more than three years before coach Andreas Heraf surprisingly nominated him for the final Austrian squad for the 2011 U-20 World Cup in Colombia.
