The Lumda is a 30.0 km long tributary of the Lahn in Hesse ( Germany ).
geography
course
The river rises in the area of the northwestern roof of the Vogelsberg , the so-called Vorderen Vogelsberg , on the central Lumda plateau named after it , a plateau that it leaves shortly before it flows into the Lahn. The source is close to Mücke -Atzenhain, the estuary in Lollar . The Lumda gave the Lumdatal through which it flowed its name, as did the Grünberg district Lumda . Furthermore, their name appears in surnames to the place names, namely in the case of Allendorf (Lumda) , Treis an der Lumda, Odenhausen (Lumda) . The traditional dialect name "Lom" is still recognizable in the place names Lollar (Lomlar = meadow on the Lumda) and Londorf (= village on the Lumda). The Lumdatal through which the Lumda flows is one of the most scenic valleys in Central Hesse. For leisure / tourism, the Lumdatal is accessible via the Lumda-Wieseck cycle path .
