Music genre
After the Doom- oriented debut, the band relied more on influences from Power Metal. The lyrics on the album are kept spiritual and, similar to the later albums, strongly sarcastic, if not to say blasphemous. The album is conceptually about idol worship and was written as a concept album . The protagonist is the "wolf", a being who believes in God, but who quarrels with his faith and ultimately falls. He becomes angry and signs a contract with Satan that eventually makes him bloodthirsty. But suddenly he begins to see flashes of light and recognizes the idol worship of various groups. In the end, he finally sees God.
reception
Metal.de wrote: “Here, too, very skillfully moving melodies are paired with strong riffs that soon there is a certain compulsion to listen to the record up and down again and again.” The website sums up: “All in all, the debut will be not quite achieved, but the fun factor is two numbers higher, and Powerwolf are once again proving to be a real hit machine. " Musikreviews.de saw the" anthem share "compared to the debut" this time again significantly increased ". The conclusion was: "Whether you call the admittedly not particularly demanding Powerwolf style True , Power or just Heavy Metal : this sack full of hymns puts you in a good mood and is ideally suited for the carefree bangers."
