George's Chapel

history

In the High Middle Ages, a court was documented here that fell to the Amelungsborn monastery . There was also a George Chapel. In connection with a feud against Wilhelm II near Einbeck , the village was destroyed at the end of the 15th century. The rebuilt village came to Joachim Götz von Olenhusen through Erich I. In the Thirty Years War it was destroyed again. In 1736 the chapel was replaced. The church was subordinate to the Lippoldsberg monastery as patron and parish until 1490the Archbishop of Mainz. After it was separated from these and given all freedoms and rights, from then on it functioned as an ordinary parish church .

On March 1, 1974, Lutterbeck was incorporated into the city of Moringen.
