Luzius Rüedi (born June 12, 1900 in Thusis ; † July 19, 1993 in Zurich ) was a Swiss ice hockey player who won the bronze medal with the Swiss national team at the 1928 Winter Olympics . With HC Davos , he became a four-time Swiss champion in the course of his career .

Career

Luzius Rüedi was born in Thusis in the canton of Graubünden , but grew up in Davos . He played as a defender for HC Davos between 1922 and 1930 and won the Swiss championship with them in 1926, 1927, 1929 and 1930 . He also won the Spengler Cup with the club in 1927 .

In the 1930/31 season he worked for the Academic EHC Zurich before ending his career at the Grasshopper Club Zurich between 1931 and 1933 .

Internationally, Rüedi represented his home country at the 1930 Ice Hockey World Championship , where he won the bronze medal. He had previously participated in the 1928 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz for the Swiss national team . With his team he won the bronze medal. He himself was used in four games during the tournament.

Rüedi graduated from the University of Zurich in medicine in 1925 and later practiced as an ear, nose and throat doctor in Vienna and Bern . In 1948 he became director of the Clinic for Oto-Rhino-Laryngology at the University Hospital Zurich , where he also acted as a professor for ear, nose and throat medicine until 1970.
