Lyle Idoine (born July 7, 1988 in Auckland ) is a former New Zealand ice hockey player who played most of his career with Botany Swarm in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League .

Career

Lyle Idoine played since the beginning of his career as an ice hockey player first in the team of Botany Swarm (until 2007: South Auckland Swarm) in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League . With this team from Auckland he was New Zealand champion in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 and runner-up in 2006. In the meantime he played during the annual breaks in the southern hemisphere, but also in Europe. He was in the youth of the Ukrainian club HK Sokil Kiev and later with the Nottingham Lions in England. In 2013 he played for the Sydney Bears in the Australian Ice Hockey League and retired after the season at the age of only 25.

International

In the junior division, Idoine played with the New Zealand selection at the U18 World Championships in 2004 , 2005 and 2006 in Division III, as well as in Division II at the U20 World Championship in 2006 and in Division III at the U20 World Championship in 2008 .

For the men's national team , Idoine took part in the World Championship of Division III 2009 and the World Championship of Division II in 2011 .
