Lynique Beneke (* 30th March 1991 in Springs as Lynique Prinsloo ) is a South African long jumper .

Athletic career

Lynique Beneke gained her first international experience at the 2012 African Championships in Porto-Novo , where she won the bronze medal with 6.22 m behind the Nigerian Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor and her compatriot Janice Josephs . A year later, she increased her best to 6.81 m and qualified for the World Championships in Moscow , where she was eliminated with 6.17 m in the qualification. Two years later she took part in the Africa Games in Brazzaville and reached fifth place with 6.13 m. Also at the African Championships in 2016 in Durban , South Africa , she finished fifth with 6.20 m. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , however, she was eliminated with 6.10 m as 33rd of the qualification . In 2017 she took part in the Summer Universiade in Taipei , where she took sixth place in the final with 6.21 m. In the following year she won the bronze medal at the African Championships in Asaba with 6.38 m behind the Nigerian Ese Brume and Marthe Koala from Burkina Faso.

In 2019 she again took part in the African Games in Rabat , where she won the bronze medal behind the Nigerian Ese Brume and Deborah Acquah from Ghana with a width of 6.30 m . In addition, she was used in the South African 4 x 100 meter relay in the run-up and thus received a silver medal.

From 2013 to 2019 Beneke was South African champion in the long jump. She graduated from Johannesburg University .
