Mária Jasencakova (* 21st October 1957 in Spišská Sobota ) is a former Slovak luger , the 1980-1998 first for the Czechoslovakia and later Slovakia starting at five Winter Olympics took part.

Mária Jasenčáková started for the Tělovýchovná Jednota Vysoké Tatry club . In 1980 she took part in her first Olympic Games in Lake Placid and finished ninth. This was followed by further starts in 1984 in Sarajevo and 1992 in Albertville with places 12 and 20. In 1994 , Jasenčáková started for the first time in Lillehammer for Slovakia and finished in 15th place, which she also took in 1998 in Nagano in her fifth and final games.

In the Luge World Cup , Jasenčáková often placed well, especially in the 1980s, so she was ninth in the overall ranking of the 1980/81 season and won the World Cup races in Imst in 1982/83 and 1983/84 . She was the only starter who was able to stand up to the GDR tobogganists Steffi Martin , Ute Oberhoffner-Weiss and Bettina Schmidt during this time . After the 1998 games, Jasenčáková ended her career.

After her active career, Jasenčáková became a functionary. As the successor to Maria-Luise Rainer , she is the Technical Delegate Junior Artificial Track of the FIL and therefore responsible for the junior competitions on the artificial track.
