Life

Since his father was of German descent, Triewald first attended the German school in Gamla stan . After graduating from school, he started trading in unspecified goods, but failed to pull back. On a subsequent trip to England, which was to last a total of ten years, he was initially employed by a merchant Rodley and was appointed inspector of his coal mines in Newcastle in 1716 . There he acquired knowledge of steam engines , the power of which was used for dewatering and coal extraction . By the time he returned to Sweden in 1726, he had repeatedly improved the machines in the English coal mines. He also used his knowledge in Sweden. In the iron ore mines of Dannemora , he had Sweden's first steam engine built, which was used for dewatering.
