Arnold Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller (born July 13, 1913 in Hellerup ; † April 16, 2012 Copenhagen ) was a Danish shipowner and industrialist .

Career

After the death of his father Arnold Peter Møller in June 1965, he took over the management of the family-owned shipping company and managed the company as director until 1993. Until 2003 he was its chairman of the board. He built the AP Møller-Mærsk Group into the largest company in Scandinavia and the largest container ship shipping company in the world. He has three daughters who are involved in the company: Leise Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller (* 1941), Kirsten Mærsk Mc-Kinney Olufsen (* 1944) and Ane Mærsk Mc-Kinney Uggla (* 1948).

Alongside Duborg-Skolen in Flensburg, it is the second Danish community school with upper secondary school in Germany. In 2009 the Düppeler Mühle , which has been used as a museum since 1995 and is a Danish national symbol, was renovated with funds from the foundation .

Forbes magazine listed him as number 90 of the richest people in the world in 2005. Møller was considered by far the richest inhabitant of Denmark.

The type ship of the Triple E class , the largest type of container ship in the world, was named after him in 2013.
