history
The place was first mentioned in a document in the year 800 and incorporated into Landau on April 1, 1937. Mörlheim has 1043 inhabitants (as of 2013). The area of the previous municipality was 626.08 hectares . The current district area of the district is 644.67 hectares.

Culture and sights
The oldest Gustav Adolf Church in the Palatinate, which was built in 1846, is located in Mörlheim . The wall of the former monastery complex, which belonged to the Eusserthal monastery, is located at the village community center . The district has a Catholic parish church of St. Martin. Mörlheim has a rural youth group which, among other things, organizes the Mörlheim Flammkuchen Festival. In addition, the rural youth is involved in the local church fair.

Economy and Infrastructure
Mörlheim had a stop on the Landau – Herxheim railway line, which was closed in 1983 . Today the bus route 508 connects this Landau suburb with the city center. In addition, the east industrial area of the city of Landau is located in the Mörlheim district, where a Michelin company is located .
