The place was first mentioned in a document in the year 800 and incorporated into Landau on April 1, 1937. Mörlheim has 1043 inhabitants (as of 2013). The area of ​​the previous municipality was 626.08 hectares . The current district area of the district is 644.67 hectares.

The oldest Gustav Adolf Church in the Palatinate, which was built in 1846, is located in Mörlheim .
