Location and dates

Cianciana is 44 km northwest of Agrigento . The main industries are agriculture and the extraction of mineral salts.

history

Cianciana was founded in 1640 and was then called Sant 'Antonio di Cianciana. After sulfur was found in the neighboring towns in the 19th century , the city developed.
