The Mückenbornberg is 692.6 m above sea level. NN high elevation in the Black Forest high forest , a southwestern part of the Hunsrück , near Kell am See in Rhineland-Palatinate , near the state border with Saarland .
The Mückenbornberg forms a side knoll of the Teufelskopf ( 695 m ) located around 1.4 km south-west and lies between Kell am See in the north-north-west, Grimburg in the north-east, Wadrill (neighboring Saarland district of Merzig-Wadern ) in the south-east and Waldweiler in the west-north-west. The Prims tributary Wahnbach rises to the south and the Ruwer tributary Burkelsbach rises somewhat to the west-northwest . The Prims tributary Wadrill flows a few kilometers to the east .
