The Mühlenbach is 9.1 km long and at the same time the largest left or eastern tributary of the Eggel in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .
geography
The Mühlenbach rises in the eastern part of Westphalia in the Höxter district as Maschbach . The source is located in the eastern part of the Warburger Börde north of the village of Bühne, which belongs to Borgentreich, at an altitude of ( 288 m above sea level ). From here the stream initially flows in a south-westerly direction towards Borgentreich. Near the Upper Mill left side ends of the light coming from the east Mühlebach .
After crossing under the B 241 , the stream reaches the southern outskirts of the town of Borgentreich, the only village on the stream. The Maschbach is divided in front of the Mittelmühle . Part of the water is drained into the stream called Mühlenbach to the Mittelmühle. The normal course of the stream is still called Maschbach. About 300 m below the mill, the two watercourses join again. From here on the stream is called Mühlenbach . After passing the Heidemühle , the brook turns in a wide curve to the south and flows a little later ( 177 m above sea level ) on the left into the Eggel . The mouth of the Mühlenbach lies between the towns of Aldorpsen and Lütgeneder on the Eggel .
On its 9.1 km long path, the stream overcomes a height difference of 111 m, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 12.2 ‰. The 19.444 km² catchment area is drained to the North Sea via Eggel , Diemel and Weser .
