Müllerdorf is a district of the village of Zappendorf in the municipality of Salzatal in the Saale district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Geography and infrastructure

Located in the valley of the Lawekebach , the view of the village is characterized by the Protestant church, which is located on a hill and can be seen from afar. A pub and a bakery are among the most important facilities alongside the local history museum. The watermill, which is now privately owned, is one of the most beautiful buildings. The watermill was first mentioned in 1465 as an Andreas d. Ä. Müller zu Müllerdorf was. His family still lives in direct line with the name Müller-Barthél in Nuremberg. The remains of this first mill can still be seen to the right of the gate to the property, where a window or door arch can be seen just above the current level.

The population is around 350 people.

history

The village is mentioned for the first time in 979 , then still as Millerenthorp . Müllerdorf belonged to the Oberamt Friedeburg in the Schraplau district of the county of Mansfeld . When the county of Mansfeld was divided in 1738/80, the place got the share that the Prussian Duchy of Magdeburg received. With the Peace of Tilsit in 1807 Müllerdorf was incorporated into the Kingdom of Westphalia and assigned to the Halle district in the Saale department. It came to the canton of Fienstedt . After Napoleon's defeat and the end of the Kingdom of Westphalia, Napoleon's allied opponents liberated the area in early October 1813. During the political reorganization after the Congress of Vienna in 1815, Müllerdorf was attached to the Merseburg administrative district of the Prussian province of Saxony in 1816 and incorporated into the Mansfeld Seekreis .

In the course of the first district reform in the GDR, Müllerdorf was incorporated into Zappendorf on July 1, 1950 and the municipality of Zappendorf was reclassified to the Saalkreis . With the second district reform in 1952, Zappendorf came to the newly tailored Saalkreis in the Halle district , which was added to the Saalekreis in 2007. On January 1, 2010 the place came with Zappendorf to the unified municipality of Salzatal.
