Zappendorf is a place of the unified municipality Salzatal in the Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt in Germany .

geography

The Salza , Würde and Laweke streams flow through Zappendorf . The city of Halle is about 15 kilometers from Zappendorf.

The village of Zappendorf is made up of the districts of Zappendorf, Köllme and Müllerdorf .

history

Zappendorf was first mentioned in 1211. The mining has long been one of the most important economic sectors, has been but today completely. Zappendorf belonged to the Oberamt Friedeburg in the Schraplau district of the county of Mansfeld . When the county of Mansfeld was divided in 1738/80, the place got the share that the Prussian Duchy of Magdeburg received. With the Peace of Tilsit in 1807, Zappendorf was incorporated into the Kingdom of Westphalia and assigned to the Halle district in the Saale department. He came to the Canton of Fienstedt . After Napoleon's defeat and the end of the Kingdom of Westphalia, Napoleon's allied opponents liberated the area in early October 1813. During the political reorganization after the Congress of Vienna in 1815, Zappendorf was attached to the Merseburg administrative district of the Prussian province of Saxony in 1816 and incorporated into the Mansfeld Seekreis .

On July 1, 1950, Müllerdorf and Köllme were incorporated into Zappendorf, now more in the Saalkreis . With the second district reform, Zappendorf came on July 25, 1952 in the newly tailored Saalkreis (in the Halle district ), which was added to the Saalekreis on July 1, 2007.

Until the new formation of the unified municipality of Salzatal on January 1st, 2010, Zappendorf was an independent municipality in the administrative community of the Western Saalkreis . Ina Zimmermann is the local mayor of Zappendorf.

The place is a member of the association Naturpark Unteres Saaletal e. V. and the Mansfeld Lakes Wine Route .

In 2003 and 2014, Zappendorf won the title of “most beautiful village in the Saale district”. The 9th district competition "Our village has a future" won cleared the way for participation in the 2015 state competition.

The three churches, the three mills, Handel's vineyard , the Beetstehle (a prayer column in the form of a wayside shrine from the early 16th century) and the limestone quarries are considered sights . Numerous hiking routes, including the European long-distance hiking trail E11 , make the place attractive.

There are numerous protected areas around the place: LSG Laweketal, NSG Muschelkalkhangs and the NSG Salzatal. The highest point is the Hügelberg (143 m).

Economy and Infrastructure

In the village of Zappendorf there is a bakery, a driving school, two construction companies, three butchers and a small retail shop. In an external commercial area, which was built far away from the town centers on the Schauchenberg, there is a car paint shop, a garbage recycling plant and a solar park.
