Location of Kloschwitz in Salzatal

Kloschwitz is a place of the unified municipality Salzatal in the Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).

geography

Kloschwitz is located on an arch of the Saale north-west of Halle (Saale) in the Lower Saale Valley Nature Park .

Local division

In addition to the main town of Kloschwitz, the villages of Johannashall, Rumpin and Trebitz belong to the village of Kloschwitz.

history

In 1209 the place was first mentioned as Clozmichz . The place gained national importance in the first half of the 19th century due to the boys' institute founded by Pastor Carl Friedrich Grundmann (1793-1850). The brothers Julius and Gustav of Otto Leonhard Heubner , known as Plauen's gymnastics father, taught there.

Kloschwitz and its current districts of Rumpin and Trebitz belonged to the county of Mansfeld . Kloschwitz belonged to the Seeburg office ( Schraplau district ), Trebitz to the Friedeburg district office (Schraplau district) and Rumpin to the Gerbstedt office ( Mansfeld district ). When the county of Mansfeld was divided in 1738/80, the three places got the share that the Prussian Duchy of Magdeburg received. With the Peace of Tilsit , Kloschwitz, Rumpin and Trebitz were incorporated into the Kingdom of Westphalia in 1807 and assigned to the Halle district in the Saale department. Kloschwitz came to the canton of Seeburg , Trebitz to the canton of Fienstedt and Rumpin to the canton of Gerbstedt . After Napoleon's defeat and the end of the Kingdom of Westphalia, Napoleon's allied opponents liberated the area in early October 1813. During the political reorganization after the Congress of Vienna in 1815, Kloschwitz, Rumpin and Trebitz were attached to the Merseburg administrative district of the Prussian province of Saxony in 1816 and incorporated into the Mansfeld lake district. In the course of the excavation of the Johannashall potash works, the Johannashall settlement of the same name was created in 1895. In 1922 the shaft was closed. In the course of the first district reform in the GDR, Rumpin, Trebitz and the Johannashall colony were incorporated into the Kloschwitz community on July 1, 1950, and Kloschwitz was reclassified to the Saalkreis . With the second district reform in 1952, Kloschwitz came into the newly tailored Saalkreis in the Halle district , which was added to the Saalekreis in 2007.

Until the formation of the unified community Salzatal on 1 January 2010 Kloschwitz was an independent municipality in the Westlicher Saalkreis Last Mayor of Kloschwitz was Jan Papendieck.

coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on May 25, 1998 by the Halle regional council.

Blazon : "In blue a lowered silver anchor, topped by two six-pointed golden stars."

The colors of Kloschwitz are derived from the coat of arms silver (white) and blue.
