from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Młyny [ ˈmwɨnɨ ] (German Möllendorf ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . It belongs to the Gmina Pyrzyce (municipality of Pyritz) in the Powiat Pyrzycki (Pyritzer Kreis) .

Geographical location

The village is located in Western Pomerania , about 30 kilometers southeast of Stettin and about 6 kilometers north of the district town of Pyritz .

In the west, the development merges into the neighboring town of Ryszewko (Klein Rischow ), in the east the neighboring town of Turze (Horst) is a short distance away . The bank of the Madusees is about 2 kilometers northeast.

history

The village was founded in 1776 under King Frederick the Great : Back then, the king had the water level of the Madusees lowered, which enabled land to be gained and, above all, dry land. On the field mark of the village of Klein Rischow , which belonged to the Pyritz office , he had two new villages ("colonies") created, including Möllendorf. The place name "Möllendorf" was chosen in honor of the then Lieutenant General Wichard von Möllendorff .

The condition after the establishment of the new village is in Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's detailed description of the current condition of the Royal Prussian Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784): At that time 20 families lived here, "each of which owns 26 acres of fields, meadows and huts and for this pays a certain interest annually. "

Around 1860, 11 Büdner positions had been added to the 20 colonist positions , each of which did not include any other land holdings apart from gardens. There was also a windmill and a jug restaurant was set up at a colonist post.

Until 1945, the municipality of Möllendorf belonged to the Pyritz district of the Pomerania province . Next to Möllendorf, the windmill residential area was run.

After the Second World War , Möllendorf, like all areas east of the Oder-Neisse border , came to Poland. The village received the Polish place name "Młyny".
