Mielęcin [ mjɛˈlɛnt͡ɕin ] (German name: Mellentin , old spelling: Mellenthin ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the urban and rural community of Gmina Pyrzyce ( Pyritz ) in the Powiat Pyrzycki ( Pyritz district ).

geography

The village is located in the Neumark , about 8 km south of Pyrzyce (Pyritz) and 45 km southeast of Stettin .

history

The village was the ancestral seat of the von Mellenthin family, first mentioned in documents in 1250 .

Before 1945 Mellentin formed a rural community in the Soldin district of the Prussian province of Brandenburg . The municipality had 841 inhabitants in 1933 and 820 inhabitants in 1939.
