Music genre
Pitbull's musical style is described as Dirty South , a musical style that is common in the southern United States. The album also contains some influences from the Miami bass . Pitbull's Latino influences are a specialty , so he uses Spanish texts several times in his mainly English lyrics. In addition to Dirty South and Crunk , he also uses Latin American rhythms. The majority of his lyrics deal with typical party topics such as sex, dancing and club life. There are also some texts on social issues.
reception
Alex Henderson from Allmusic described the album as one of the most interesting Dirty South albums of 2004 due to the use of Latin American influences. Phillip Gässlein from the music magazine laut.de , on the other hand, gave a rather negative review:
“It is definitely danceable, but then you have to look for the plus points with a magnifying glass. Anyone looking for tech-savvy, sophisticated rap should keep their hands off the good piece. However, those who crunk heavily or want to confront the bass box in the car with extreme loads again, the album can certainly satisfy. "
success
The album reached number 14 on the album charts and number 7 on the top R&B / hip-hop albums. The first single, Culo , which announced the album, reached number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100 . The other singles did not appear in the main charts.
