Global Warming is the seventh studio album by the US singer and rapper Pitbull . It was released worldwide on November 19, 2012.

background

In April 2012 it was announced that Pitbull's seventh album would be called Global Warming . In May 2012, Pitbull announced on his Facebook profile that his album would be released on November 19th. In August 2012 Pitbull went on tour through the USA to promote the album. The tour included the concert in Ulan Bator on September 8th.

In October, Pitbull announced that Jennifer Lopez , Chris Brown , Enrique Iglesias , Shakira , Christina Aguilera , The Wanted , Havana Brown and Usher were the collaboration partners for the album.

On November 22nd, 2013 the album was re-released as Global Warming: Meltdown with 5 new songs, including the hit single Timber .

Back in time

The song was written by Pitbull and produced by DJ Buddha. Back In Time was used as the theme song for Men in Black 3 and enjoyed worldwide success. Among other things, the song reached the top five in Germany, No. 1 in Austria, No. 6 in Switzerland, No. 21 in Great Britain and No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition, the song was awarded in Australia, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Austria and the Switzerland platinum awards.

Get It Started

The song was written by Pitbull and Shakira and recorded together. The song producer was DJ Buddha. Compared to Pitbull's previous singles, the song was not as successful worldwide and only reached 89th place on the Billboard Hot 100. In Austria it could make it into the top 20 with 17th place. The song received gold awards in Denmark, Canada and Mexico.

Don't stop the party

Don't Stop the Party was released as the third single on the album on September 25th. Globally, the song was more successful than Get It Started, reaching number 7 in the UK and number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100. In Australia, the song went platinum twice. The song was awarded 3 × platinum in Canada. In Great Britain and the USA it was awarded silver and 2 × platinum.

Feel this moment

The song was released in January 2013 in the USA, where it reached number 8 on the charts.

Timber

Timber was released on October 7th, 2013 and was a huge hit worldwide. With # 1 placements in the USA, Germany, Austria and Great Britain, among others, the song is the most successful single from Global Warming.

reception

Global Warming was received mostly positively by critics. Entertainment Weekly's Ray Rahmann gave a positive review. He called "Feel this moment" the best track on the album. Sam Lansky from Idolator said the album is above all what fans of his clubby hip-pop [sic!] Would have expected. He also said the song with Jennifer Lopez was one of the best tracks on the album.
