The M4 (Armenian: Մ 4) is a main road in Armenia , a south-north route in the middle and north of the country. It leads from the capital Yerevan via Sevan and Ischewan to the closed border with Azerbaijan near Azatamut. The road between Yerevan and Sevan is built like a motorway over a length of 60 kilometers.
history
The section of the M4 between Yerevan and Sevan is the longest motorway in Armenia. It was built during the Soviet Union and is the country's most important tourist route because it connects the capital, Yerevan, with Lake Sevan .
