The M6 is a trunk road in Azerbaijan . The road runs in an east-west direction from Hacıqabul (formerly Qazıməmməd ) to the border with Armenia at Zəngilan and is about 290 kilometers long. A large part of the route lies in the internationally unrecognized Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh and cannot be passed through.
history
The route was known as the A324 during the Soviet Union . This number remained the same even after Azerbaijan gained independence in 1991. In the 1990s, due to a war in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, most of the villages along this route were destroyed and have become uninhabitable. These places have not been rebuilt as the Azerbaijani government has no control over the area.
