The M4 is a trunk road in Azerbaijan . The road runs in an east-west direction through the center of the country, from Baku to Mingəçevir , and at some distance parallel to the M2 .
history
The M4 was part of the M1 until 2008 . It was rededicated in 2008 and has since been signposted as M4.
The street used to be part of the main road between Baku and Tbilisi during the Soviet Union . It was expanded in the 1970s and 1980s. In addition, some bypasses were newly built. The route leads to an 800 meter high pass.
