Beyləqan (also Beylagan ) is a rayon in Azerbaijan . The capital of the district is the city of Beyləqan . The district borders the Iranian province of Ardabil in the south .

geography

The rayon has an area of ​​1131 km². The river Aras in the southeast forms the border with Iran, in the north the rayon is bounded by the river Kura . The district lies in the Mil plain, the climate is dry and subtropical. Part of the Ag-Gel National Park is located in the rayon.

The district had 86,300 inhabitants in 2009.
