Cəlilabad (also Jalilabad ) is a rayon in southern Azerbaijan . The capital of the district is the city of Cəlilabad . The district borders on the Iranian province of Ardabil to the west .

geography

The rayon has an area of ​​1441 km². The natural design of the region is mainly characterized by flat land, with smaller mountains. The eastern part is below sea level. The rivers Bolqarçay, Mişarçay, İncəçay and Göytəpəçay flow through the area.

population

The rayon had 191,500 inhabitants in 2009.
