Cəlilabad (Rayon)
Cəlilabad (also Jalilabad ) is a rayon in southern Azerbaijan . The capital of the district is the city of Cəlilabad . The district borders on the Iranian province of Ardabil to the west .
geography
The rayon has an area of 1441 km². The natural design of the region is mainly characterized by flat land, with smaller mountains. The eastern part is below sea level. The rivers Bolqarçay, Mişarçay, İncəçay and Göytəpəçay flow through the area.
population
The rayon had 191,500 inhabitants in 2009.
Economy and Transport
The region is dominated by agriculture. Grain, wine and fruit are grown and cattle are raised. The road from Bilasuvar to Astara runs through the district .
Attractions
There are several archaeological sites and Zoroastrian temples in the district.
