MM 80 Reefer Mark II is a ship from the architectural firm Multi Maritime Forde designed cooling and container ship type . Of the ship type, the design of which is based on the type " MM 80 Reefer ", four units were built.
history
The ships were built on Kleven Maritime's My Klebust Verft in Gursken for the Icelandic shipping company Eimskip . The hulls were delivered from Kherson Shipyard in Ukraine .
The construction contract for two ships of the series with an option for two more units was concluded in June 2005, the option for two more ships was declared in May 2006. The construction costs for the first two ships amounted to around NOK 255 million .
The first two ships built were sold to the Silver Sea shipping company in 2009. You are chartered for NorLines.
description
The drive of the ships is done by a Caterpillar - diesel engine with 3000 kW power . A MaK 6M32C motor was installed in the first two units of the type, and a MaK 9M25 motor in the following two. The motors act on a controllable pitch propeller via a reduction gear . The ships are each equipped with an electrically powered transverse thruster system in the bow area with 500 kW power and in the stern area with 350 kW power.
A Stamford generator driven by the main engine with an apparent power of 1200 kVA and two generator sets, each with 738 kVA apparent power, which are each driven by a Caterpillar diesel engine of the type 3412 TA, are available for generating electricity.
The ships are equipped with five holds on three decks. Temperature-controlled cargo can be transported in the holds. The temperature can be set individually in each cargo space. The cargo space is 5568 m³ on a 2180 m² area. A further 680 m² are available on deck.
The holds can be reached via a side door that can be opened upwards, approximately amidships on the port side of the ships. Two lifting platforms, each 3.05 × 1.40 m in size and capable of lifting 4.1 t, are installed here. Behind the deckhouse there is a continuous cargo deck on which containers or other cargo can be transported. Unlike the two units of the “MM 80 Reefer” type, the ships were built without a deck crane . Two of the ships were retrofitted with a deck crane for cargo handling in 2015. The crane can lift 50 t.
The superstructures are located in the forward area of the ships. In the deckhouse there are ten cabins for the ship's crew, nine single and one double cabin. The closed bridge spans the entire width of the ship. The two cams are integrated into the bridge and extend a little beyond the width of the fuselage for a better overview.
The hulls of the ships are reinforced with ice ( ice class 1A).
