MacGyver's mission is to build a top-secret military research facility whose central computer "Sandy" has artificial intelligence and which is managed by scientist Dr. Ludlum has been developed over many years to test the security systems by penetrating the system unnoticed. After he has penetrated, Sandy recognizes him as an intruder who must be eliminated. MacGyver and Dr. Ludlum can save themselves from the shooting robots controlled by Sandy and save themselves from death by taking an acid bath. When Sandy finally interrupts the oxygen supply, the two can only get out of the ventilation shaft with Thornton's help.

Michael Simmons is a man who commits a crime by stealing technology developed on behalf of the government and selling it for a lot of money. So MacGyver is tasked with finding Simmons. Since Simmons cheats on his buyers and does not deliver the goods, the hit man Jimmy Kendall is set on Simmons. By posing as Simmons' father looking for his son, Kendall lets MacGyver help him out, unsuspecting that it is a killer. It wasn't until MacGyver found Simmons that he realized Kendall's true identity.

The Phoenix employee Kelly Sutton wants to commit suicide out of desperation over the loss of his money, which the con artist James Crowe took from him. Since Crowe could not be arrested by the police so far and to convict Crowe, Pete, MacGyver and their colleague Joanne Remmings investigate undercover, with Pete taking on the role of a corrupt drug deputy. After Crowe grows suspicious and takes Joanne hostage for protection, Pete, MacGyver and Kelly set a trap for him by catching him and his accomplices in the act by the police and freeing Joanne.

Paul Chen, the 14-year-old brother of a Chinese friend of MacGyver's, is kidnapped by the Chinese because of his strand of white hair. They consider him the desired child and see a corresponding legend come true in him. MacGyver investigates on his own in Chinatown and is ultimately able to save him from being kidnapped to China by freeing him from a Chinese cargo ship.

MacGyver's mission is to supervise a group of youths who have become criminals who camp in the wild for rehabilitation. On the return flight in the small plane, the pilot suffers a heart attack, MacGyver is able to make an emergency landing in the middle of the wilderness. The radio is destroyed. He mediates disputes between the young people and saves them from dangerous animals. Since one of the participants is badly injured, they can't wait to be found. Based on MacGyver's idea, they cooperatively build a makeshift runway so that take-off and return flights are successful.

The flight pilot Jack Dalton uses a number of lies to persuade his old friend MacGyver to help him with a liberation in a Latin American banana republic . Their old friend, Mike Forester, was jailed there by a corrupt police chief who was cooperating with a drug dealer after she and Jack realized that the dealer was trying to use her to smuggle heroin into the United States. By allowing himself to be arrested, Jack induces MacGyver to free himself and Mike. Then they jointly set a trap for those interested in drugs so that they can escape.

In the refugee camp where the children were taken, Pete discovers that a French man working there is hindering the rescue mission by collaborating with the soldiers. Eventually, at Pete's instigation, MacGyver and Debbie can be flown out and rescued.

After game hunters injure the eagles, they want to secure them. MacGyver helps a mother and her son whom he brought one of the eagles to rescue them from the hunters' violence.

The hit man David Crane and his accomplices steal components nationwide for a new type of missile that MacGyver is currently testing for the Phoenix Foundation. Deaf Deaf teacher Carrie Linden, who works in the Phoenix Deaf Program, foresees Crane MacGyver's death from an earlier, chance encounter. MacGyver and Carrie therefore go to the location of the dream, a lake. After Carrie is captured by Crane, MacGyver is able to rescue her and secure the missile.

An undercover wants a bag full of counterfeit money passed in a remote village on MacGyver, the bag accuses his murder but in the Cadillac - Cabriolet of the aging actor Guy Roberts, who with his wife to Hollywood is on the way, while MacGyver takes along for a breakdown. The murderers from the Syndicate want the money back and pursue the convertible on desert roads at gunpoint. MacGyver saves Harry and himself from being gassed with hydrogen sulfide . After the terrorist leader shot her accomplices and jumped to her death while attempting to overpower MacGyver, Harry, who was captured by her, can guide MacGyver to him so that he can defuse the bomb.

The Czechoslovak dissident Anton Dubcek is locked up in a psychiatric hospital near Prague by the Soviet secret service GRU . MacGyver and the agent Diana Rogers set off from Vienna to Prague for the purpose of freeing Anton and get help from the contact Krug. They free Anton from the hospital and then learn from him that his wife Viera will be executed if he escapes. That is why they also free Viera. On the return trip they escape Krug's betrayal and flee to Austria. Back in LA, the GRU kidnaps Viera and threatens Anton to recapture him. During the prisoner exchange, Viera reveals herself to be a GRU agent. MacGyver, Pete and Diana manage to overwhelm the GRU agents.
