Macedonia is a city in Summit County in the state of Ohio in the United States . In the 2000 census , the place had 9,224 inhabitants. Macedonia is part of the Akron metropolitan area .

history

The first white settler in the area was Henry Woods in the early 19th century. Originally the settlement was called The Corner . Allegedly, a quotation from the Bible from Acts 16: 9 “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” Led to the current name. Hudson theology students who came there on Sundays to help out with church services reportedly used it.

Macedonias geographical coordinates be 41 ° 19 '  N , 81 ° 30'  W . The place is south of the fork of the two interstate highways I-280 and I-471 on the railway line from Cleveland via Bedford to Hudson (Ohio) . The Ohio State Route 82 leads as East Aurora Road from west to east through the city.

The median household income in Macedonia was 68,908 US dollars and the median family income reached the amount of 77,125 US dollars. The median income for men was $ 50,187 compared to $ 31,820 for women. The per capita income was $ 27,739. 1.5 percent of the population and 0.8 percent of families had an income below the poverty line , of which 1.5 percent of minors and 3.2 percent of the age group 65 and over were affected.
