Maddie Mastro (born February 22, 2000 in Loma Linda , California ) is an American snowboarder . It starts in the disciplines halfpipe and slopestyle .

Career

Mastro has been participating in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2009 . She got her first podium finish in March 2011 with second place on the halfpipe at the Burton US Junior Open in Stratton Mountain . In the 2013/14 season she took second place in the US Revolution Tour in Mammoth and first place in Sun Valley in the halfpipe competition. The following year she won the US Revolution Tour at Copper Mountain and Seven Springs . In Mammoth she came in second place and reached the end of the season in first place in the halfpipe overall ranking. At the Snowboard Junior World Championships 2014 in Chiesa in Valmalenco and 2015 in Yabuli she was sixth on the halfpipe. In January 2016 she took third place at the US Snowboarding Grand Prix and Snowboard World Cup in Mammoth and second place in the halfpipe competition in Park City . At the Winter X Games 2016 in Aspen she finished seventh and at the X Games Oslo 2016 in Oslo she came fourth on the superpipe . In March 2016 she finished ninth at the Burton US Open in Vail and finished sixth in the Halfpipe World Cup at the end of the season. In the 2016/17 season she came seventh at the Winter X Games 2017 and sixth at the 2017 Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada . In February 2017, she finished third at the Burton US Open. After third place in Cardrona at the beginning of the 2017/18 season, she finished second in Copper Mountain and third in Snowmass , reaching 11th place in the Freestyle World Cup and fifth place in the Halfpipe World Cup. She also came third at the US Snowboarding Grand Prix in Mammoth and second at the Burton US Open. At the end of January 2018, she won the bronze medal at the Winter X Games . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she came in 12th place.

After second places at the US Grand Prix and World Cup in Copper Mountain and the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge , Mastro took sixth place at the Winter X-Games 2019 and won the bronze medal at the Snowboard World Championships 2019 in Park City . In early March 2019, she won the Burton US Open. In the 2019/20 season she achieved third and second place, eighth place in the Freestyle World Cup and fourth place in the Halfpipe World Cup. She also came second in the Winter Dew Tour in Copper Mountain and eighth in the Winter X Games 2020 .
