Magmell of the Sea Blue ( Japanese 群青 の マ グ メ ル , Gunjō no Magmell ) is a manga series by Dainenbyō . It has been released in Japan since 2015 and has been adapted as an anime television series. The work can be classified into the genres of adventure and fantasy .

After a new continent with unknown flora, fauna and mineral resources suddenly appeared in the Pacific, a new era of explorers and treasure hunters began. But the dangers of the new world, called Magmell, with all its wild animals and plants are not up to many. Another professional group will soon emerge on Magmell: the anglers. The experienced adventurers venture into the dangers of the new world in order to save others from it. You In and his office “Drift” belong to them, his assistant is the girl Zero. They both have the "Rakt" ability, which allows them to conjure up objects out of nowhere. They use these skills to rescue people who got into trouble on Magmell.

The series has been published in the online magazine Shōnen Jump + since June 2015 . Its publisher Shūeisha brought out the chapters in eight anthologies so far. Volumes five to eight were initially only published digitally.

A German edition of the series has been published by Planet Manga in two volumes since April 2019 . The manga was also printed in China and published digitally.

Anime adaptation

In 2019 Studio Pierrot Plus made an adaptation of the manga as an anime for Japanese television. Directed by Hayato Date and lead author was Chūji Mikasano . The character design is by Akiharu Ishii and the artistic directors were Hiroki Matsumoto and Mayumi Nagashima . Hiromi Sasaki was responsible for the editing .

The anime is from the transmitters since April 7, 2019 Tokyo MX and BS Fuji broadcast, Netflix online is a Spanish version. In October 2019, the platform made a German-language version available under the title Ultramarine Magmell .

The music for the film and series was composed by Yasuharu Takanashi . The opening song is Dash & Daaash !! by Fūdan-juku and the credits were underlaid with the song The Key by A flood of circle.
