The largest districts of the municipality of Padirac are Travail, La Croix, Les Cassagnes, Andreuilles, La Garenne, Les Estiades, Arteil, Les Espioles, Las Bouffios and Les Bories d'Arties . Padirac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Roc in the north, Lanzac in the east, Loupiac in the southeast, Lamothe-Fénelon in the south and Saint-Julien-de-Lampon in the west.

Place name

The place name Nadaillac is based on the Latin anthroponym Natalius . The ending -ac is a typical Gallic suffix. The suffix -de-Rouge indicates a presumably Germanic person named Hrogis . The name of the community appears for the first time in 1504 in a document. In 1801 the spelling Nadailhac-des-Rouges was used for a time . From 1806 Nadaillac-de-Rouge was part of the municipality of Le Roc together with Mareuil ; In 1928 it was spun off again and re-established.
