Frayssinet-le-Gélat is a southern French municipality with 358 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lot department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Gourdon (until 2017: Arrondissement Cahors ) and the canton of Puy-l'Évêque (until 2015: Canton of Cazals ). The inhabitants are called Frayssinetois .

location

Frayssinet-le-Gélat is located about 26 kilometers north-west of Cahors in the Quercy area - more precisely the Bouriane - in the heart of the Périgord noir on the Thèze . Frayssinet-le-Gélat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Caprais in the north, Montcléra in the northeast, Goujounac in the east, Pomarède in the south and southeast, Cassagnes in the south and Loubejac in the west and northwest.
