economy

Baladou was and still is largely agricultural, with cattle breeding (cattle, pigs, poultry) also playing an important role. Since the 1960s, tourism has also contributed to the town's income in the form of renting holiday homes and apartments ( gîtes ).

history

Until 1841, Baladou belonged to the municipality of Creysse, about four and a half kilometers south .

Attractions

  • The rural parish church of Saint-Caprais, built in simple forms, dates from the 19th century. The west tower looks stocky and a bit clunky. The single-nave church has a south chapel in the area of the crossing. The baroque altar from another church shows gilded figures in almost 'primitive' forms.
  • There are several stone and iron crosses from different centuries in the municipality.
