Gindou is a southern French municipality with 321 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lot department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Gourdon (until 2017: Arrondissement Cahors ) and the canton of Gourdon (until 2015: Canton of Cazals ).

Gindou is located about 25 kilometers northwest of Cahors in the Quercy region - or more precisely the Bouriane - in the heart of the Périgord noir . Gindou is surrounded by the neighboring communities Salviac in the north, Dégagnac in the northeast, Rampoux and Lavercantière in the east, Thédirac in the southeast, Montgesty in the south and southeast, Les Arques in the south and southwest, Montcléra in the west and Cazals in the west and northwest.
