action

Big Steve Andrews starts a new job at Aurora Steel Mill. He lives with Blossom Finley and their ten year old son Pete. Big falls in love with Della Lane, girlfriend of his rival Bill Morgan. Blossom is secretly in love with Big and is not pleased that Della is leaving Bill for Big. Big moves out of Blossom's pension to live closer to the steel mill and Della. When Big is doing a collection for Mrs. Howard, a steelworker's widow, at a fair, they raise $ 400. Morgan and Della persuade Big to take on a wrestler at the fair. Big asks Della to put the $ 400 on him. However, she gives the money to Morgan, who puts it on Big's opponent. Big loses the fight, and Morgan makes off with his win. Due to a concussion, Big can't remember giving the money to Della and is accused of stealing it. Della proves superficial and returns to Morgan. When Blossom learns what happened, she gives Big $ 400 of her own money and tells him about the scam. Big forces a confession from Morgan and can thus refute the accusation on him. In the end, he and Blossom get married.
