The Mairalm (also: Maieralm , Moaralm ) is an alpine pasture on the northern flank of the Hochstaufens in the area of the municipality of Piding in Berchtesgadener Land.
The hut of Mairalm is a listed building and is under number D-1-72-128-29 Bavarian monument list entered.
Building description
The Mairalm alpine hut is a ground floor saddle roof building . This was built in the 18th or 19th century and built partly in block construction and partly in solid construction.
Todays use
The Mairalm is no longer used for agriculture, the hut is owned by Naturfreunde Hammerau and is not served. Once a year the community of Piding organizes a folk evening on the Mairalm .
Others
On the Mairalm there is a measuring station of the Earthquake Service Bavaria of the Bavarian State Office for the Environment . The station is equipped with a seismograph to record the swarmquakes in the Hochstaufens area, which occur especially after heavy rainfall. Air pressure, air temperature, humidity and precipitation are also measured at the station.
Not far from the Mairalm is the Piding mountain flower garden .

The Mairalm is located on the northern flank of the Hochstaufens at an altitude of 816 m above sea level. NN . Two challenging paths lead to the summit via the Mairalm: the Pidinger via ferrata and the path over the Steinernen Jager .
