Malcolm Lee (born May 22, 1990 in Riverside , California ) is an American basketball player who was last under contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA .

Career

Minnesota Timberwolves

After three years at the University of California , Lee signed up for the NBA draft . He was drawn in 43rd place by the Chicago Bulls , who traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves on the same day along with Norris Cole for Nikola Mirotić . There he signed a three-year contract, which is rare for a second round pick. Due to injuries, he was only able to play 35 games with the Timberwolves in two years, in which he averaged 4 points and about 2 rebounds per game.

Phoenix Suns & Washington Wizards

On June 27, 2013, the day of the draft , he was initially transferred to the Golden State Warriors , but they immediately traded him to the Phoenix Suns . The Suns traded him along with Marcin Gortat , Kendall Marshall and Shannon Brown for Emeka Okafor to the Washington Wizards , who released him shortly afterwards.
