Maleen Pacha (born April 26, 1923 in Timișoara , Kingdom of Romania , † January 2000 in Ameno , Italy ) was a German film architect and costume designer .

Live and act

Pacha had received her artistic training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and also completed a degree in German. In 1946 she began working as a scene and costume designer; Her field of work was initially the stage and cabaret, later also orders from film and television were added.

In the 1960s and early 70s she designed primarily for Rolf Thiele's productions , but also furnished prominent individual works by representatives of 'young German film' ( Der Junge Törless , Wilder Reiter GmbH , Harlis ). The costume designer was awarded the gold film ribbon in 1965 for her work on Thiele's Wälsungenblut . After 1973 Maleen Pacha only worked sporadically for the cinema. The costume designer provided her most beautiful work for carefully implemented social and historical material ( Der Lord von Barmbeck , Der Mädchenkrieg , Egon Schiele - Excess and Punishment ) with strong contemporary colors.

Maleen Pacha, who moved to her refuge (Villa Pacha in Ameno, not far from Lake Maggiore ) in Italy during the 1980s , was also active in television.
