Malvar is a Filipino municipality in the Batangas Province .

geography

The municipality is located 68 km south of Manila and can be reached from there via the STAR Tollway . Malvar is bordered by Tanauan City to the north, Santo Tomas to the east, Lipa City to the south and Balete to the west .

origin of the name

The municipality is named after General Miguel Malvar . Miguel Malvar was the last Filipino general to capitulate in the 1902 Filipino-American War .

Attractions

Malvar is known for the Calejon waterfalls . This natural sight consists of two larger waterfalls and two smaller waterfalls. One of the larger is 3 to 4 m high. A large amount of water flows over this part of the waterfall and collects in a shallow basin. The other part, also about 3 to 4 m high, resembles a wedding dress. One of the two smaller waterfalls is similar to a shower, the other of the two smaller falls consists of many small cascades . The waterfalls are located in an area of ​​about 300 m².
