San Jose ( Tagalog : Bayan ng San Jose) is a Filipino municipality in the province of Batangas , in the administrative region IV, Calabarzon. It has 76,971 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who lived in 33 barangays . It is classified as a first income class community in the Philippines and as partially urbanized .
The topography of the municipality is characterized by mountainous terrain. Its neighboring communities are Ibaan in the east, Lipa City in the north, San Pascual and Batangas City in the south, and Cuenca and Alitagtag in the west.
