Manfred Haidinger

Manfred Haidinger (born January 12, 1963 ) is an Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and trade unionist ( AUF ). From April 2016 to February 2020 he was a member of the Burgenland State Parliament .

Life

After elementary school, Manfred Haidinger attended the Stiftsgymnasium Melk and for three years the higher technical federal teaching and research institute St. Pölten . The information about his education is contradictory. On the one hand, a high school diploma and a discontinued course are indicated, on the other hand a civil service advancement test (B-high school diploma). After his military service he was initially a regular soldier in the armed forces , and was gradually promoted to lieutenant .

In 2004 he was a co-founder of the General Trade Union of Army Members (AFH), on July 23, 2004 he was elected President of the Armed Forces Union. From 2005 to 2015 he was district councilor in Vienna - Favoriten . Since 2009 he has been a member of the central committee in the Federal Ministry for National Defense and Sport . He has been a local councilor in Halbturn since 2012 . In January 2016 he was elected executive chairman of the FPÖ in the Neusiedl am See district.

On April 14, 2016, he was succeeded Gerhard Kovasits in the XXI. Legislative period as a member of the Burgenland Landtag, where he acted as deputy chairman in the social committee and as spokesman for the areas of security, administration, employees, health and social affairs and housing.

In the state elections in 2020 , he ran behind Alexander Petschnig and Karin Stampfel in third place on the list in state electoral district 1 . After the state elections in 2020, he left the state parliament. In February 2020, alongside Petschnig, the designated successor to Johann Tschürtz , he announced his candidacy for the state party chairmanship of the FPÖ Burgenland at the state party conference on March 7th. Petschnig asked FPÖ federal party leader Norbert Hofer to lead the FPÖ Burgenland as chairman, on March 7, 2020 Norbert Hofer was elected regional party leader.
