Manfred Jäger (politician)

Manfred Jäger (* 1965 in Hamburg ) is a former German politician ( CDU ) and former member of the Hamburg Parliament . From May 2008 to March 2011, he served as a State Councilor with various responsibilities. Jäger is a judge at the Hamburg Social Court and the Hamburg Constitutional Court .

Life

At the suggestion of the CDU parliamentary group, the Hamburg citizenship elected Jäger as judge at the Hamburg Constitutional Court for six years on May 10, 2017 . In 2016 he also completed a degree in history with a Master of Arts .

MP

Between 1998 and 2001 Jäger was a deputy of the Ministry of the Interior and from 2004 to 2014 chairman of the CDU local association in Alsterdorf .

From March 17, 2004 to May 9, 2008 he was a member of the Hamburg Parliament .

There he was a member of the Interior and Constitutional Committee for the CDU parliamentary group . In addition, he sat on the control bodies for the protection of the constitution, housing surveillance and the secrecy of letters, mail and telecommunications. During the 18th legislative period he was chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (PUA) , which met from 2005 to 2008, for closed accommodation at Feuerbergstrasse . From April 2006 to May 2008, Jäger was the specialist spokesman for domestic politics. On May 9, 2008, he resigned from the citizenry as he was appointed State Councilor for Districts and Sports.

State Council

From August 2010 to November 2010, Jäger was State Councilor for the Social, Family, Health and Consumer Protection Agency . After the end of the black-green coalition in November 2010, he was State Councilor for the Authority for Urban Development and the Environment ; in this function he replaced the GAL politician Christian Maaß . After the Hamburg citizenship elected a new Senate led by Olaf Scholz on March 23, 2011 , Jäger's activity as State Councilor ended.
