Manfred Knodt

Manfred Knodt (born August 11, 1920 in Schlitz , † October 29, 1995 in Dreieich ) was a German Protestant pastor and historian. He was a chronicler of the House of Hessen-Darmstadt .

Life

Manfred Knodt was a son of pastor Hermann Knodt. He studied theology in Marburg (where he a member of the Marburger Wingolf was), Vienna and Erlangen and was at the University of Giessen for doctor of philosophy doctorate . In 1945 he was ordained in the Colchester POW camp . Knodt worked as a camp pastor until 1948 and in 1949 became pastor at the city ​​church in Darmstadt . He was a member of the St. Michael's Brotherhood and was a preacher in charge of the Sisters of Mary community . From 1984 to 1995 he was chairman of the Hessian Family History Association in Darmstadt.

Knodt was married and had two children.
