Manfred Rauner

Manfred Rauner (born April 10, 1952 in Weißenfels ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Rauner is a trained machining worker . In January 1990 he started working as a social worker for the city of Weißenfels. From 1994 to 2001 Rauner worked as a center manager in the Leißlinger shopping center "Schöne Aussicht". Rauner is married and has four grown children, three daughters and a son.

In the early 1990s, Manfred Rauner was temporarily deputy mayor of the city of Weißenfels. In 1994 he was defeated by Gisela Bevier in the mayoral election . In 2001 Rauner was elected Lord Mayor. In the mayor election in 2008 he was defeated by Robby Risch in a runoff election .

Manfred Rauner is a member of the city council of Weißenfels and chairman of the CDU council group there.

Rauner is chairman of the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Weißenfels .
