Adalbert Welcker (born July 31, 1838 in Eisleben ; † November 23, 1911 there ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born the son of a librarian, Welcker studied law and political science in Jena after attending grammar school in Gotha . During his studies he became a member of the Teutonia Jena fraternity in 1857/58 . After his exams in 1862 and 1865, he went into the civil service of the state of Saxony-Gotha, which he left again in 1868 and worked as a secretary at the Thuringian Railway Company in Erfurt until 1874 .
