Manfred Schneider (composer)

Manfred Schneider (born May 3, 1953 in Kestert ; † November 18, 2008 in Lahnstein ) was a German composer , arranger, conductor and horn player. He published numerous works under the pseudonym Steve McMillan.

Career

Since 1975 Schneider arranged music for big bands and combos and taught the instruments organ and keyboard . Since 1985 he has also composed his own works. The focus of his work was on symphonic brass music , entertainment and dance music , as well as music for piano and accordion . Manfred Schneider lived in Lahnstein , where he died in 2008 after a serious illness.

Schneider also arranged a variety of works for wind orchestras and big bands, including the musicals West Side Story , My fair Lady and The Rocky Horror Picture Show , film and television music, such as The magnificent Seven , Walt Disney Pictures, Derrick -Theme, music is Trump and others, as well as well-known hits such as Michael Jackson's Earth Song .
